Unique Glass Frogs with Transparent Skin

These species of frogs belong to the amphibian family of Centrolenidae. The skin of this interesting frog is lime green, but some species in the family have transparent skin on their abdomen.

The structure of the skin allows the light to pass through it.
Because of that, we can see all of their internal organs, including the gastrointestinal tract, the liver and the heart.
The name of these species of frogs comes from their abdominal skin. Glass frogs are generally small (3-7 cm).

They are known for their act of eating their offspring. Glass frogs are native to South America and they live in the rain forests on this continent. Look at the following video about glass frogs and see how the heart of a frog works.
