Theory says that dinosaurs disappeared because of an
asteroid that fell on earth some few million years ago. But, many new fossils which
were found around the world point to another theory that says dinosaurs haven’t
disappeared and they have evolved into birds. One of many proofs of this theory
is the bird named Cassowary. This bird lives in rain forests in Australia, New
Zealand and New Guinea. Its Latin name is casuarius casuaris.
Cassowary the largest bird in the world after emu and
ostrich. The weight of an adult bird is 60 kilograms. Their wings is small and
they can’t fly, but they are very fast and have strong legs. They reproduce by
laying eggs.
The cassowary egg itself is a rarity. It is green and big.
Cassowary birds share many characteristic with dinosaurs. For example, on the
head they have “fake” bone just like dinosaurs. So, this is a remained feature
of theirs predecessors.
