The Most Dangerous Plants in the World

Australian plant called Gumpie- Gumpie is most dangerous in the world. It is also considered to have the greatest amount of thorns. It a type on bush which live in Australia and its Latin name is Dendrocnide moroides.

This plant has big leafs. On the surface of these leafs there are many stinging hairs which produce one of the most effective and strongest poison in the world. They produce neurotoxin. Neurotoxin is poison which attacks the bonds between nerves and cells. That reaction causes paralysis and pain. The Gumpie –Gumpie excruciating pain has been described as “being sprayed with hot acid”.
The pain remains for two-three day, but in some cases it can exist for months.

The toxin can enter the body upon touching the little hairs. That poison causes really unendurable pain and the only treatment is eliminating the little hairs stuck on the skin surface. In the newest research scientists have concluded that this plant is slowly decreasing the number of hairs on its leafs.

However, make sure you remember this plant, just in case you find yourself in a forest in Australia. You wouldn’t want to make contact with the stinging hairs, right?
